Welcome to this week’s Living Word! We’re trying something new for 6th form – one post with one topic that you can come back to each day – thank you for your feedback so far keep it coming!

We’ll also be trying to look at things that are slightly deeper and more relevant to you as young people so hopefully over time this will develop into something that really works for you.

Each week we’ll still have an intro video (which maybe in time could be a different one for 6th form) and that will help set the tone – this one is an amazing start!

It’s a Hail Mary!

The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. This traditional prayer dates back to the 1500’s and is still something we see in the world, in prayer and even in fashion today.

The Rosary is a repetitive prayer which mainly focuses on saying the Hail Mary, a prayer of intercession that we pray with Our Lady.

The Hail Mary is a prayer that is often played when this are difficult, or when it looks like there is no hope. It’s also a prayer prayed when someone is near the end of their life.

It’s for that reason we often see things being referred to as a “Hail Mary” in other areas of life, in sports, and in movies.

In it you’ll see the reference again to a “Hail Mary” being something that you turn to when things are bad and when it looks like there are no other options.

Have a think in your form about what situations in school, in our communities, or in our world need a “Hail Mary” what would that “Hail Mary” look like and how can you be part of the solution?
